Visite des coulisses de Louis Vuitton

Written by , Posted in Perso

One of the most famous French leather goods maker allowed a few lucky behind the scenes…

For the Journées Particulières organized by LVMH on June 15th and 16th, I was among the lucky ones to do a workshop of leather goods savoir-faire and to meet the magical hands that creates the mythic handbags of the brand.

The workshop of an hour and a half was split in 2 parts. First, a board game of the Vuitton house for 45 minutes. A playful way to tell the story and savoir-faire of the brand. Of course, my team won as we were so expert! :)
Then, some practice with 3 short successive workshops: the tinture of a slide of leather, then marking the passing of the yarn with a hot with a kind of soldering iron, and then stitching with the famous yellow yarn of the house.

It was almost impossible to get an invite on the Journées Particulières website. That’s why I only did one visit but what a visit!

I’ll let you discover the photos I was allowed to take during this extraordinary day!

NB: We have had the privilege to see Antoine Arnault himself and then the French press during our atelier!
