Je suis finalement retournée à Istanbul mais cette fois-ci pour un week-end entre copines.
Et j’ai adoré ! Les meilleures vacances selon moi sont celles où je me régale des visites et de la gastronomie locale. Je n’ai pas été déçue !

*Petit-déjeuner traditionnel chez Café Privato – à 3 min de la tour de Galata.
Un régal ! Le petit déjeuner que l’on vous pose sur votre table ressemble plutôt à un buffet mais que pour vous. Il est connu pour être un des meilleur petit-déjeuners d’Istanbul.
* Sinon goutez leur simit (sorte de bagel turc) avec chocolat pour les gourmands comme moi. Ils sont vendus dans la rue par des vendeurs ambulants.
*Déjeuner chez Doy-Doy – dans le quartier de Sultanahmet.
Il offre une vue imprenable sur la mosquée bleue depuis ses 2 terrasses. On y mange très bien, traditionnel et pas cher.
*Pour un petit rafraichissement, profitez des vendeurs de jus d’orange ou de grenade dans la rue.
*Dîner chez Kiva Han – au pied de la tour de Galata.
Cela nous a permis de manger des mezze en tout genre. C’était bon et le cadre très agréable.
*Dîner chez Galata House – au pied de la tour de Galata.
Le service et la cuisine était délicieux. On a eu la chance de manger dehors, sur la seule table de la petite cour intérieure ce qui a rendu le cadre encore plus appréciable. C’est à faire absolument mais pensez à réserver. Petit bonus : le propriétaire passionné parle français !
*Et un dernier verre (de thé) au Nardis Jazz Club – au pied de la tour de Galata.
Idéal pour bien finir la journée. Au programme : un groupe de jazz, un verre de thé et la lumière tamisée.
A voir / à faire
*Prendre le vapur (bateau) pour traverser le Bosphore
*Traverser le pont de Galata à pied (sur le pont et sous le pont)
*Faire un tour au Grand Bazar
Pour se déplacer, les transports en communs (tram) fonctionnent très biens et sont très pratiques.
Le petit mot de la fin : J’ai été très surprise par la gentillesse des Turques, toujours polis, serviables, aimables, et ce, quelque soit le quartier (touristique ou moins). Allez-y les yeux fermés !

I finally went back to Istanbul but this time for a week-end with my girls.
And I loved it! The best holidays for me are those where I enjoy the city tour and have a blast with local food. And I wasn’t disappointed!

Where to eat
*For a traditional Turkish breakfast, run to Cafe Privato (close to Galata Tower). It’s poetic! The breakfast they put down on the table looks like a « personal » buffet with a lot of different little things to taste. It’s known to be one of the best breakfast in Istanbul.
*Another option is to taste a simit (sort of Turkish bagel) that you can buy from a street vendor. I personally recommend it with chocolate spread.
*Lunch at Doy-Doy – in Sultanahmet.
And enjoy the view of the Blue Mosk from one of the terrace. The traditional food is really good and cheap.
*If you feel like have a refreshment as you visit this great city you should take an orange or pomegranate juice from street vendors.
*Dinner at Kiva Han – at Galata Tower
We had mezze of all kinds. It was a nice restaurant with good food.
*Dinner at Galata House – at Galata Tower
The service and the food were delicious. He had the chance to eat outside on the only table of the tiny courtyard. It made the all experience so great! It’s a must but make sure you book a table.
*For a last drink (no alcohol) go to Nardis Jazz Club – at Galata Tower.
Enjoy a good tea, listen to the jazz band and relax.
Things to do or to see
*Take the vapur (boat) to cross the Bosphorus
*Walk through the Galata Bridge (on the bridge and below the bridge)
*Check out the Grand Bazar
To get around, public transportation (tram in particular) are efficient and clean.
Last but not least: I was very pleased with the Turks who are very nice, helpful , polite no matter if you’re in a touristic area or not. I loved this weekend!
